Because we have been free from the fear of punishment and death we are now free to serve God.

The night of betrayal and upcoming denial reach a pinnacle in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus cries out to his father, "Take this cup from me."

As Christ is dying on the cross the others are casting lots for his clothes. Friends and enemies are looking out for themselves. Where are we standing beneath the cross?

Jesus is betrayed by his friends.

The rich young man put his faith and trust in his wealth and accomplishments and had alienated himself from God. Where do we place our faith and trust?

Jesus physically carried his cross before he was nailed to it taking upon himself the punishment we deserve. He knew his father's plan for our salvation. How does this act shape us?

Jesus and his followers were challenged by religious leaders on observance of the law. Today in the life of Christians, the law of God becomes a life of love.

Each of us has received God-given gifts to share with others. In our busy lives we often miss the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships.
